June 14, 2008- Thanks to funding from the Evergreen Foundation, The Kinark Outdoor Centre is holding a family GREEN-UP planting day at the Sustainable Living Centre and EcoClassroom. Lindsay Toyota will be there to present the cheque, and in the afternoon a visit for the kids from Cathy’s Crawly Composters! The kids will learn all about red wiggler worm composting through stories and building their own composter with worms! The Evergreen Foundation supports organizations who want to green up their areas. The Kinark Outdoor Centre recieved funding to focus on the permacuture plan at the Sustainable Living Centre and EcoClassroom. The day will be an active planting day for all ages! We welcome the community to come and plant the many native species of plants and trees around the Sustainable Living Centre and enjoy a beautiful day in the sun.
