Art in the Forest

Something special is happening in the forest this year! For 10 days at the end of August renowned Canadian artists and performers will be entertaining and delighting audiences with a series of concerts, dance performances and environmental art installations especially created for the Forest Festival. From August 22 to August 31 the shores of Bone Lake, deep in the heart of the Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve, will echo with the sounds of taiko drummers, classical brass, soul-stirring arias and much, much more. Dancers from across the country and the community will celebrate nature through movement. Artists will display pieces celebrating the greatest creator of them all and visitors will be invited to explore the sonic landscape of the forest on a guided walk led by the founder of the acoustic ecology movement, R. Murray Schafer himself. Come on up and stay at Willow Beach Cottages (www.willowbeach.com) and take a trip to the Haliburton Forest to enjoy this wonderful event.
